RUBBER GLOVES! WEAR THEM AT ALL TIMES!
Personal Protective Equipment must be worn at all times. This includes, rubbery gloves and sleeves, hard hat, safety glasses, safety toe boots and fall arrest gear such as harnesses or climbing belts. Failure to wear your protective gear could result in injury.
Rubber Gloves, and Sleeves are issued to each new employee at Hilltop EMC, and must be worn at all times while working near energized, or potentially energized equipment and power lines.
PROPER SAFETY ROLEPLAY
Rubber Gloves and SleevesRubbers are required to be kept in the Canvas bags while not in use. They are used as a protective device from electrical shock. To roleplay using your gloves, refer to the set of actions below. Rubber Gloves are kept in the passenger side, rear bin. You MUST RP all actions listed below to be considered a viable asset to the Hilltop EMC.
Removing your gloves and sleeves:
/me: grips bin door handle, opening it.
/do: You could see two canvas bags hanging inside of the service truck bin.
/me: reaches into a long canvas bag, removing a set of rubber sleeves, slinging them over his head placing his/her arms into both sleeves.
/me: reaches into a small canvas bag, removing a set of rubber gloves, placing them on his/her hand.
/me: places his hand on the bin door, shutting it.
Rubber gloves should be inspected once a week. Use the following RP to complete this task after you have removed the gloves from their bag.
Inspecting your Rubber gloves:
/me rolls the rubber gloves opening closed, sealing the air inside.
/me moves each finger around slightly, checking for any holes and listening for any leaking air.
HOTSTICK - Extendo Stick
Hot line tools are required to be kept in the plastic tube running the length of the truck. The tube is mounted ontop of the service truck rack. Hot sticks are used to pull cutouts, or attach grounds. You must RP all actions listed below to be considered a viable asset to the Hilltop EMC.
/me: reaches towards the top of the service truck railing, removing the cap to a white PVC tube.
/do You could see the ends of two yellow sticks inside of the tube. They appear to be fiberglass.
/me reaches inside the PVC tube, carefully removing a shotgun stick, placing it in both hands. (Or the extendo stick)
Sticks must be cleaned and tested, this will be shown in a video below.
